Neurotherapeutic effects of prodigiosin conjugated with silver-nanoparticles in rats exposed to cadmium chloride-induced neurotoxicity

Prodigiosin is a red pigment produced by Serratia marcescens strain. Bacterial prodigiosin and its synthetic derivatives are efficacious antioxidants proapoptotic agents. This study illustrates new approach for use of conjugated silver nanoparticles (PG-AgNP2) against cadmium chloride (CdCl2) induced neurotoxicity in rats. Rats were (ip) injected with Cd (6.5 mg/kg) 7 days or without PG-AgNP2 (3 mg/kg). The concentration Cd, DA, NE, 5-HT, amino acids, NO, MDA, SOD, GSH, catalase, TNF-α, IL-6, Bax, Bcl2 Caspase-3. Cd-intoxicated group showed significant increase brain tissue, addition, to an MDA NO decrease the content neurotransmitters (DA, 5-HT), inhibitory level all studied antioxidant enzymes. treatment, significantly reduced Cd-induced tissue injury as indicated increased molecules, acids accompanied lower oxidative stress indices (MDA NO) excitatory tissue. decreased inflammatory mediators including pro-inflammatory cytokines prevented development apoptosis Our findings suggest that can act therapeutic agent neuronal impairments associated exposure.
